Life lately

Let's do one of those spectacular phone dump/what's been happening over here lately type posts shall we? While I stuff my face with these cookies I made husband for valentines day...

He actually doesn't like my baking. Well he doesn't like any baking. But then he came home from work last week raving about this cake a girl at work made for the practice to celebrate a few birthdays and I was all oohhhh hell noooooo!

Hello third trimester!!

Emily Legges got us some flowers to celebrate (bless her).

The baby's corner of our room is coming along swimmingly. Absolutely love our little ceramic house night lights (we got two) but I still have a little ways to go, this arrangement doesn't sit well with me yet.

Back, ribs and hips are a nightmare of pain. Makes it very hard to sit at my desk and concentrate. Lying down is even a pain! But I don't mind one bit if it means baby gets to keep growing a while longer.

I started mums and bubs pilates this week at Nick's work! Except I was the only Mum with Bub. The other ladies were all middle aged with sore knees and things but me and BD, we LOVED it.

And by the way, watered down third trimester pilates run by physios is no joke. I was sweating! But dear lord it felt good, I cannot wait to go back next week. I've also started streeeetttttccchhhiiinnnggg every night. The ribs and back and hips appreciate it.

We got a fiddle leaf fig! Finallllyyyyyy... She's growing really well and loving this spot in our living room with wonderful morning sun and chihuahuas for company.

Our dear friends welcomed baby Spencer into their family this month. She is the most adorable well behaved pup I ever met. I am in love.

Valentines Day!

We aren't big on the ole V day. But since we hadn't been on a date since... oh I don't know, Greece!? We thought why not. Husband took me on a breakfast date and I did not stop smiling the whole time. Except when my breakfast came because I am no good at ordering.
After breakfast I headed to this girls Hens Day! So fun, so yum... I'm still recovering.

This week marked SIX months since our wedding! Can you even believe it? me neither. Best six months of my life, not even kidding. All the morning sickness in the world couldn't even put a damper on it.

If you made it to the end - congratulations! But be thankful, photos that didn't make the post are as follows:

  • Selfies of me and my hair - too many braid youtube tutorials being watched over here
  • Photos of the dogs lying on me while I lie in bed
  • More selfies, this time showcasing the burn mark on my face from my straightener. I literally dropped it on my face
  • 10,000 outfit photos - could not decide what to wear to awesome hens
  • 9,999 screen shots of things I've found for baby/nursery/life on pinterest and instagram
  • 643 photos of bushes that I want to paint later
Anyway, carry on with your own life now, thanks for reading.

He made it!

Tuesday 22 July 2014, Nickdew completed his last piece of assessment for his masters degree. After two years, he's done! We made it. We made it through two years of living on our own with our two little dogs on one income. We made it through without too many scrapes and bruises. We've been waiting so patiently (or not so much) for this chapter in our lives to be finished so we can start the next. We can get married, earn more money, not worry about university...
And somehow a little part of me thinks we might miss these years one day, because really even though they've been a little stinky, they've been oh, so happy and fairly uncomplicated.

I'm so proud of this man for what he has accomplished. I may grumble about having to support the family in this job but there is no way that I could have done what he has done, let alone how well he's done it.
I can't even spell physiotherapist most of the time...

We're going to be alright, us nearly Dewberries. Just as long as I go to someone else for my physiotherapy, he goes to someone else for his haircuts and we go to the local thai place to celebrate every family milestone. Somebody say curry puff and a Heineken?

Also this dog.

Serves us right for trying to take family photos at dentastick time. What a ham.

I love you old dewberry mcgee! Thank you for working so hard.
